Starting from this principle, studies using a novel technique to replace bone-subtractive drilling have been developed to optimize the implant site. This new technique, called osseodensification, was developed by Dr. Salah Huwais and patented in 2012. The name of the procedure suggests the induction of a compression wave at the tip of specially designed drills at the point of contact.
